Bipartisanship – it’s in our DNA

Most mornings I wake up and reach for my blackberry.  And almost every morning there is an email from one of my VOX colleagues with a link to something in the news, accompanied by their own pointed commentary.   It is always timely, usually political in nature and almost always relevant to our work.  VOXers are a great aggregators and disseminators of news because by the time we are making our way through Washington’s worst-in-the-nation traffic many of us are chatting in real time via our bb’s.

By midmorning, there’s a full-blown exchange of opinions on the hot topics of the day with jabs from the left, uppercuts from the right, and occasionally a poke from the middle ground.  The debate continues through the day from our desks, along the hallway, or in our conference room adorned with campaign placards from both the Democratic and Republican conventions.

All of this gives VOX a unique chemistry.  VOX is a firm made of both political parties but full of open minds and thoughtful learning.  At VOX we share a commitment to our clients and to each other that is stronger than any party affiliation.

We know the debate makes us smarter, keeps us sharper, and prepares us to give clients the most complete view of the political context in which we work.

Since we play to win (show me a good loser and I will show you a loser) we know it’s critical to get inside your opponent’s head, whether you’re looking for 60 votes to break a filibuster or a simple majority to determine who will pay for the morning Starbucks.

And at the end of the day (we work half-days, what we do with the other 12 hours is completely up to each of us) we always remember this:  We are joined in a unique effort to provide each other and our clients the best counsel, ideas and energy we can.  That’s how we roll.  Come see us.
