We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced public affairs counselor to join our growing Public Affairs team in Washington, D.C. as a Senior Account Executive. This role is responsible for helping clients develop and execute programs using traditional and social media tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop creative communication strategies and plans.
- Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory activities at the state and federal level.
- Design and execute strategic media relations initiatives. Build and manage branded presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites – including posting comments, photos, videos and responding to questions.
- Manager blogger outreach programs that include cultivating bloggers amount the website registrations and identifying appropriate sites to pitch client’s guest posts.
- Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
- Monitor relevant trends in social media tools, trends and applications to ensure the team is leveraging the most appropriate tools for their clients’ target audiences.
- Share actively in recommendations, ideas, and strategic responses to client situations with internal account teams.
- Assist in organizing new-business presentations: conducting research, synthesizing information, and developing agency “point of view”.
- Organize client events and briefings.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of public affairs and/or communications experience.
- Previous government, agency or corporate communications experience preferred.
- Excellent writing ability.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media tools.
- Energetic, self-starter and problem solver.
- Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and team members.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast moving environment.
