Prior to joining VOX, Alison served as the new media coordinator for the Alliance for American Manufacturing, a nonprofit focused on strengthening manufacturing in the U.S. She was responsible for executing online strategies to enhance the Alliance’s advocacy and earned media efforts through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
Alison also served as the press secretary and new media specialist for Communities for Quality Education (CQE), an education advocacy nonprofit. While at CQE, Alison created, implemented, and managed social media strategies for numerous grassroots advocacy campaigns. She also conducted social media trainings and workshops for education groups and coalitions nationwide to help them increase their online organizing and activism capabilities.
Alison graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Journalism.
A self -professed “social media nerd” Alison has guest lectured at The George Washington University and American University on developing successful twitter campaigns and has served as a panelist during numerous social media conferences and events.
A Massachusetts native, Alison enjoys spending time cheering on her home state’s highly successful sports teams with fellow New England transplants. She’s also an avid runner and a fan of sampling Washington, DC’s ever-expanding array of restaurants.
