Angela has fifteen years experience as a public affairs professional and provides strategic communications counsel to management at large corporations, associations, non-profits, and coalitions. She works primarily within the financial services industry to develop and implement communications strategies to increase awareness, engage stakeholders, and positively impact public policy.

Biography

Angela is part of VOX’s growing financial services practice. Prior to joining VOX, Angela worked at CRC Public Relations where, for several years, she helped manage one of the firm’s largest clients – Visa Inc. Through a variety of communications channels, Angela strived to increase the overall visibility and deliver positive and informative messages about Visa Inc. to federal/state/local legislators and regulators, the media and the private sector so as to be seen as a leader within the card payments industry. Angela provided strategic communications counsel in a variety of key areas including crisis, public policy, corporate social responsibility program, financial education, data security, and innovation for all types of card products. She also built relationships with third parties to coordinate a whole host of public events – press conferences, financial education activities for students, industry summits, employee events.

Earlier in her career, Angela worked at the Mortgage Bankers Association and provided strategic internal and external communications counsel to the senior management team and the board of directors as well as served as spokesperson.

Additionally, Angela spent six years at MasterCard in their Washington, DC government relations office as well as at their NY headquarters in a public affairs capacity.  In this role, Angela served as a key member of MasterCard’s Corporate Communications department, spearheading the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts with a particular focus on its robust consumer education portfolio. Angela began her career as a lobbyist in the state of Georgia, following an internship in the U.S. Senate.

Angela has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Elon University and a Master of Arts degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University.

In her free time, Angela enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter as well as travelling.
