Carter is an Assistant Account Executive at VOX Global in Dallas, Texas where he supports clients in developing and executing strategic communications campaigns. A member of the sustainability/CSR, media relations and social media practice groups, he works on consumer engagement, media outreach, research analysis, and message development on digital, social and traditional platforms.

Born and raised in Hampton, Iowa, Carter graduated Cum Laude from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication, while also majoring in political science. During his time at Iowa State, he helped execute the first student-run bacon expo in the world, raised $10,000 for a scholarship, blogged for the university’s website “CycloneLife.net” and was an Eychaner Foundation Iowa Matthew Shepard Scholar. When Carter studied abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland he served as a parliament research and consistency affairs intern for the Scottish Parliament’s Minister of Public Health.

Prior to joining VOX Global, Carter interned with the Iowa 4-H Foundation for two years where he rebranded and integrated newsletters, fundraising events and social media platforms to improve donor communication strategies. He also worked as a social media intern for Iowa State Athletics, where he helped increase each platforms’ impression and engagement measurements to the top of the Big 12 Conference and into the top 25 of the NCAA FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision). After graduation, Carter interned for Fleishman-Hillard in Kansas City where he conducted research, provided social media counseling and organized blogger/media relations programs for food/agriculture, healthcare and consumer clients.

As a four-time Iowa State Fair award-winning baker, Carter enjoys whipping up new treats in his free time. He is also an avid restaurant goer, a devoted music fan and enjoys having his blood pressure raised to dangerous levels by Iowa State Cyclone basketball.
