David Payne

Senior Vice President, Digital Advocacy

Washington, DC

David Payne helps some of the world’s best-known organizations protect their interests online and win critical public affairs battles. He is a political technology leader and inventor.

Biography

David manages the digital advocacy practice at VOX Global—providing interactive new media solutions for clients from Fortune 100 enterprises to international non-profits. He created three powerful VOX products for advocacy: Activism Central (an easy-to-use, micro-site building system), Gridfluence (a solution for visualizing spheres of influence) and Geowareness (a public affairs mapping system).

Prior to VOX Global, David managed his own new media consultancy and amassed business and technology expertise in results-focused corporate environments. David holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Concordia College and a Master of Arts degree in Political Management from The George Washington University where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a veteran of Republican digital campaigning and nationwide grassroots mobilizations.

David works in the VOX Washington D.C. headquarters and is an adjunct professor at The George Washington University (GSPM), teaching on digital advocacy topics. His core expertise includes complex online campaigns, micro-targeting, advertising, big data, results-oriented social media and grassroots mobilizations.

In his spare time, David reads a lot of history and listens to really old music. This balances out his obsession with leading-edge online strategies. He is a fan of good New York-style pizza (which, sadly, is nearly impossible to find in Washington).
