Biography

James has worked full-time in the AT&T Headquarters for the past three years, supporting the public affairs strategic messaging team and the development of AT&T’s online campaign management system. Prior to his work with AT&T, he managed accounts with the Fleishman Hillard public affairs practice in Austin, primarily working with health care and non-profit clients.

James is a veteran of several political and grassroots campaigns in Texas.  He served as an aide to U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Congressman Henry Bonilla (R-TX).  From 2003 through November 2005, he served as deputy regional director for Senator Cornyn in the Southwest & South Central Texas office. Also in 2005, he successfully managed Texas House Speaker Joe Straus’ then-special election campaign.

James’s other political experience includes organizing and executing the Republican Party of Texas’ “Victory Effort” in Southwest Texas in 2002, in which he managed a region from San Antonio through El Paso, and again in North Texas in 2004. These efforts incorporated the highly heralded 72-Hour get-out-the-vote effort.

James has a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communication from Texas A&M University – College Station, where he currently serves as a member of the Texas A&M Department of Communication’s Alumni Advisory Board.

When not changing diapers or reading a book, James can be found watching his Fighting Texas Aggies on the field and on the court.
