Jessica L. Abensour

Jessica has over 12 years of experience in the education sector and specializes in programs that leverage corporate citizenship as part of overall corporate reputation management. She works with clients to develop and implement internal and external communication strategies to increase awareness, engage stakeholders, position key executives and positively impact public policy.

Biography

Jessica began her career in education at The George Washington University, where she assisted in development and marketing at the Graduate School of Political Management focusing on recruitment, Board relations, and leadership training.  She then moved on to The Washington Center, a higher education nonprofit, where she advised college students in a variety of fields including Congress, international relations, and women’s leadership.

Jessica then served in the role as Managing Director of Federal Relations at The Washington Center, where she directed experiential education and training programs for the federal government. With multiple federal clients, including the Department of Defense, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Coast Guard, Jessica managed tailored training programs for students from diverse backgrounds, students with disabilities, and students with specialized skill-sets.  As part of this work, Jessica became an experienced federal contractor, managing federal contracts from the RFP process through to final reporting.

At VOX, Jessica focuses on providing strategic communications and public affairs counsel for AT&T and specifically the AT&T Foundation.  A key component of that work includes guiding the launch and subsequent rollout of the foundation’s $100 million education initiative, AT&T Aspire.  Her work in this area encompasses message development, program development and evaluation, and national stakeholder outreach.  She also supports AT&T outreach to education groups and other national constituency groups, and provides counsel on employee volunteerism programs and internal communications.

Jessica has also consulted on other corporate education and philanthropic programs for a wide range of clients, including Vulcan Production’s Success at the Core, a set of web-based professional development tools for middle school leadership teams and teachers.  Her expertise in education policy and programs includes career exploration, parental engagement, experiential education and workforce development and training programs, among other areas in both secondary and higher education.

in history and political science and a Master of Arts degree in political management with a concentration in corporate public affairs from The George Washington University.

Growing up in Cincinnati, Jessica is a huge fan of Graeter’s Ice Cream and spent her younger days training as a nationally competitive gymnast.  A wine enthusiast and NFL football fan, Jessica enjoys traveling, watching suspense thrillers and spending time with family.
