Biography
John is a member of the Financial Services team at VOX, coordinating with clients to produce effective messaging, grassroots activation and media strategy for state and national issues.
Immediately prior to joining the team at VOX, John worked as a paralegal in Birmingham, AL, focusing primarily on insurance fraud litigation. In 2010, John served as a campaign manager for an Alabama State House race—helping his candidate raise more funds than a three-term Republican incumbent in one of Alabama’s reddest districts. John also served as a communications intern with America Votes, a progressive issue advocacy organization.
John graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science. On campus, he served as chairman of the Blackburn Institute, a national network of student and community leaders committed to changing the state of Alabama by facilitating civic discussion and strategic action. John also spent time in Brussels, Belgium, studying the European Union and European Court of Justice.
Because Alabama lacks professional sports, John chooses franchises haphazardly. He briefly cheered for the Ravens after watching The Wire but has since settled on the Lions after watching Chrysler commercials. Enthusiasm for Shaquille O’Neal’s Kazaam, led John to the Lakers. However, only one team truly matters: the Alabama Crimson Tide.
