Mike started his career as a journalist with the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel and later worked in public affairs for GTE Telephone Operations before moving to New York City where he worked for Ruder-Finn managing corporate communications programs for L.L. Bean and Citibank MasterCard and Visa.
After New York, Mike worked in Chicago for Ruder-Finn and Fleishman Hillard and provided strategic communications counsel to clients like SBC Communications, McDonald’s Corporation, Lands’ End, Discover Card, R.R. Donnelley, Masco Corporation, Wisconsin Energy, Tootsie Roll Industries and more.
At VOX Global, Mike has worked with AT&T to help the company achieve key legislative and regulatory victories in several states across the country. Mike has also led various issues management, online advocacy, corporate social responsibility, crisis communications, online advocacy and grassroots mobilization campaigns as well.
Mike leads media and presentation training sessions for clients across the country ranging from Fortune 100 executives and professional sports teams to non-profit organizations and industry associations.
Mike is a 1991 graduate of Ball State University where he received a Master of Science degree in Journalism.
Mike is a Fort Wayne native who now resides in Indianapolis with his wife and two kids. He serves on the KidsFirst Foundation Board, is a member of the Stanley K. Lacy Class of XXXV and he also participates in Giving Sum. A lifelong Cub fan, he knows that “sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.”
