Liz works with a variety of clients to build communications campaigns that move the needle on key legislative, regulatory and reputational issues through integrated messaging, stakeholder engagement, and traditional and digital media strategies. Liz brings nearly eight years of experience on Capitol Hill to VOX, having worked in both chambers of Congress and on several state and federal campaigns. As a Vice President at VOX, she works with clients in the telecommunications, financial services, and education sectors.
As Communications Director for Connecticut Representative Joe Courtney, Liz served as on-the-record spokeswoman and conceptualized and executed media strategies to promote college affordability legislation, defense budget authorizations, and a variety of district priorities spanning healthcare, agriculture, and workforce development. As Deputy Press Secretary for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee under Chairman Tom Harkin, Liz developed deep knowledge of trade and DC media, and supported communications efforts around K-12 and higher education, retirement security, workplace safety and pharmaceutical industry regulations.
Before joining VOX, Liz provided public affairs and public relations counsel to a variety of corporate and association clients in the tech, telecom, and healthcare industries as an Account Supervisor at Racepoint Global in Washington, DC. Leveraging her political experience, Liz provided clients strategic counsel and execution of grassroots and third party activation, message development, earned media and crisis communications, with a focus on digital and social platforms.
Liz graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!) with a degree in political science. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Adam, a Michigan native.
