Emma Flanagan

Managing Supervisor

Emma Flanagan is a Managing Supervisor working out of Chicago, Illinois. In her role, Emma focuses on developing and communicating sustainable business practices. She works with a range of clients, providing strategic ESG counsel, project management, communications support and content development. Emma has led and supported numerous ESG reports and materiality assessments for companies in industries, such as communications and technology, fashion, food and beverage, health care, manufacturing and retail.

Emma is trained on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) reporting frameworks. She previously worked for the National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO), a trade association committed to advancing the long-term economic, social and environmental benefits of privately owned forests. As NAFO’s Program Manager, she worked on projects across the organization, from communications and governance to data management and events. She started her career working on political campaigns in her home state of Illinois.

Emma studied political science at The College of Wooster and earned her master’s degree in Sustainability Management from American University’s Kogod School of Business. Outside work time, Emma spends her time cycling, playing word games and exploring Chicago.
