Mike Marker is an award-winning consultant and executive trainer with nearly 30 years of experience helping organizations develop and implement strategic communications programs to advance and protect their missions

At VOX, Marker is a senior advisor to the firm’s education and non-profit practice groups. He brings experience in behavioral science theory and strategic planning to lead winning public affairs, reputation management, thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and issue advocacy programs for clients.

Marker is also an A.R.C. certified crisis counselor. His crisis experience spans a range of situations from helping organizations communicate around controversial regulatory matters, onerous legislative threats, labor challenges and litigation issues, to leading groups through large product recalls, workplace fatalities, service quality meltdowns and more.

Mike is also highly sought after as a leader of executive media and presentation training sessions. He started his career as a print journalist and later served as an on-camera spokesperson for a Fortune 10 company. Those experiences help him counsel leaders on how to effectively communicate their positions to consumers, influencers, key stakeholders, elected officials and other important audiences. He has trained a wide variety of clients worldwide ranging from Fortune 500 executives and non-profit CEOs to professional sports teams and industry association leaders.

Marker started his communications agency career with Ruder-Finn in New York. In 1995, Marker joined FleishmanHillard in Chicago and spent several years supporting AT&T. In 2007, VOX Global was spun out of FleishmanHillard and in 2011, Marker opened the VOX Indianapolis office.

Mike is a 1991 graduate of Ball State University where he received a B.S. degree in journalism and has since served as an adjunct professor. He resides in Indianapolis with his wife and two kids and he serves on the Board of BarnRaisers of Indiana to support at-risk youth and orphaned children worldwide. Marker is also a member of The Communications Network.
