Carey currently co-leads the crisis and financial services practice groups for the firm; her unique expertise in reputation management, issue advocacy and coalition management has helped various industries achieve their most important public policy objectives. She also has extensive expertise in labor relations, employee engagement, litigation communications and reputation management.
Prior to joining VOX Global, Carey served as executive director of The National Journal’s Policy Council, an issue advocacy membership of more than 100 top corporations, trade associations, think tanks and nonprofits. Before that, she served as executive vice president and financial services practice group lead at Washington public affairs firm, Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick for more than thirteen years. Carey began her career in the public law policy division of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld.
