She has spent the bulk of her career working with corporate and manufacturing clients across the globe, facing highly publicized challenges from various labor unions and their allies, including U.S. presidential candidates and other national leaders. Carey has had direct experience with various labor unions including the UAW, Teamsters, IAM, SEIU, Workers United and CWA. During these campaigns, Carey works closely with external legal counsel and C-suite executives including the CEO, COO, general counsel and heads of human resources and corporate communications to help educate and engage employees with respect to labor and employment issues.
Prior to joining VOX Global, Carey served as executive director of Atlantic Media’s Policy Council, an issue advocacy membership of more than 100 top corporations, trade associations, think tanks and nonprofits. Before that, she served as executive vice president and financial services practice group lead at Washington public affairs firm, Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick for more than thirteen years. Carey began her career in the public law policy division of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld.
